Sun Yat Sen Heritage Trail
The Sun Yat Sen Museum at 120 Armenian Street is the starting point of Southeast Asia’s first Sun Yat Sen Heritage Trail developed by Penang Heritage Trust in 2010, linking over a dozen heritage sites associated with Sun Yat Sen and his followers. A guided tour can be arranged.
The Penang Sun Yat Sen Heritage Trail, which starts from the Sun Yat Sen Museum (formerly called the Sun Yat Sen Penang Base), consists of 18 historical sites in Penang associated with Sun Yat Sen and his followers. Interpretation and signage have been developed for the places visited by Dr. Sun Yat Sen as well as those related to his Penang supporters. The trail is the first of its kind outside Hong Kong.
The Penang Sun Yat Sen Heritage Trail was launched on 20 November 2010 by Professor Wang Gungwu at the Sun Yat Sen Penang Base, 120 Armenian Street, witnessed by Dato’ Anwar Fazal, Tan Sri Dato’ Azman bin Hj. Mokhtar, Khoo Salma Nasution, heritage trail project chairman and lead researcher Lim Gaik Siang, Hamdan Majeed and Laurence Loh.
