Background of Joint Conference of Sun Yat Sen and Soong Ching Ling Memorials Worldwide

The Joint Conference of Sun Yat Sen and Soong Ching Ling Memorials, formerly called the Social Gathering of Sun Yat Sen and Soong Ching Ling,is an event organized and developed by volunteers from overseas and local states. The joint conference is organized annually and located in different countries or states, since 1989.

In the late eighties of the twentieth century, due to the development and prosperity in terms of economy and politics, the number of overseas visitors to the Sun Yat Sen Museum or Memorials had increased gradually, which was an opportunity to promote the history of Sun Yat Sen to foreign visitors. In order to further promote and enhance development of the operation of Sun Yat Sen Museum or Memorials worldwide, the joint conference was organized as a platform for all the representatives from around the world to foster a good relationship and learn from each other.

The first joint conference of Sun Yat Sen and Soong Ching Ling Memorial was organized in 1988 at Zhongshan Cemetery Administration, Nanjing.
